THIS IS FOR YOU, MOM

There are so many different moments that have molded us into the people we are today―our childhoods, our greatest heartbreaks, our most triumphant moments, our firsts and lasts and everything in between. But there is nothing in this life that has had quite the impact on us the way our moms have. 

 

They taught us that we are worth much more than we can ever know. They always tell us that we deserve infinite love and kindness. This self-compassion is fundamental to becoming our best selves.

 

They taught us how to be compassionate. They let us grow up seeing charity as a part of life. They have taught us how to forgive others, but most especially how to forgive ourselves.

 

They showed us the true meaning of woman empowerment. They continually show us how to embrace our womanhood and find strength through it.

 They taught us how to speak up for ourselves. They encourage us to stand in our truth, even when it might not be the convenient choice.

They taught us that we are not for everyone and not everyone is for us. And that’s okay. Because the right people will always be there and hear us out.

 

They taught us how to love. They represent what pure and genuine love is and have proven time and time again that there is strength especially in the most radical kinds of love.

 

So, to all mothers and mother figures in the world, you all deserve more than just a day. You deserve a lifetime of thank you’s and I love you’s. You deserve the whole world, and so much more.
